About Us

Kerr Drug, Inc's philosophy is being that of an involved corporate citizen.  This philosophy crystallized in the year 2000 to create a charitable organization, the Kerr Cares for Kids Foundation, which is a private foundation managed by Kerr Drug, Inc., directly supports and benefits children and adolescents who are underprivileged, who are challenged, or who need assistance to overcome debilitating or life-threatening health conditions.  Knowing what role Kerr Drug plays in the health care industry and how dedicated we are to community pharmacy, what better way is there to contribute our dollars and give back to the communities in which we serve.

Our Mission

To provide a solid base of resources to support various child and adolescent centered charities and health alliances principally throughout the Carolina's region.  The foundation will focus on organizations and activities, which directly benefit children and adolescents who are disadvantaged, disabled or suffer from disease.

Proceeds

There are many other recipients of our Foundation's dollars.  As a 501(c)3 charity organization, the proceeds raised from our golf tournaments have also supported many worthwhile programs and organizations such as the NC Special Olympics, Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, Duke Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald Houses of Chapel Hill and Durham, Muscular Dystrophy Labor Day, the Jimmy V Jr. Charity Classic to benefit pediatric cancer, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation to name just a few.  We also had the opportunity of presenting the American Red Cross with a $10,000 check in October, 2005 in support of the Hurricane Katrina/Rita Relief Fund.
